Both my brother and I received this as a gift from our mom (Hi Mom! Love ya'!) some years ago, and I have to say that it is a seminal work. This could be the most important thing you ever do for your man. Not only is this book a joy to read, it is full of pity, practical pointers that can turn the biggest brute into a gentleman. I'm not kidding. This is a totally cool book.
Though my mom gave it to me, it would have been even better from a girlfriend. Unfortunately, I had no girlfriends before getting my hands on this wonderful book. After I learned to be a gentleman, it rained women, but of course being a gentleman, I only ever had eyes for whomever I was dating at the time.
Even (maybe even especially) if he is a total gentleman already, he will come to appreciate this gift even if he is a bit offended by it after first opening it like I was. After he cracks it open and reads a few lines of the classic text, he will be hooked, and you will be on your way to having a true gentleman as your suitor. What could be better than that!
